Requisition Number: FS104110 Interest Category: Business Operations/Admin/IT Interest Sub Category: Information Technology Job Title : Senior Windows Server Administrator Employment Category/Status: full-time Type of Position: Contingent Country: U.S. State: District of Columbia City: Washington Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field and at least 7 years' experience or equivalent, or combination of education, certifications and specialized industry experience (subject to the Government Contracting Officer granting a waiver Candidates must have: • Understanding of Microsoft Server operating system, services, and concepts • Understanding of Active Directory and underlying concepts, including GPOs, DNS, FRS, LDAP, Kerberos, sites, forests, trees, domains, trusts, security and resource principals, FSMO roles, etc.. Candidates should have: • Certifications (i.e., MCSA, MCSE) • Experience working with and administering a large Windows 2003/2008/2012 infrastructure • Experience building servers from scratch or an image, using common imaging tools • Experience troubleshooting unresponsive servers (both physical and virtual) • Experience with 3rd party management tools and backup software (NetBackup, NetIQ AppManager, HP Insight Manager) • Experience with various Microsoft Server products, including Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, SCCM, etc… • Experience with VMWare virtualization administration and tools • Experience with VMware vSphere console and a firm understanding of virtualized infrastructure concepts. • Experience using Visual Basic Scripting and/or PowerShell •Experience with an IT helpdesk ticketing system It is highly desirable that candidates have: • Skill in using analytics, logic and reasoning to troubleshoot issues and find the best solutions to overcome challenges • Good communication skills, both oral and written, as they may be required to prepare and present documents to various technical review boards. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with conflicting priorities • Previous experience supporting a Federal Government Agency • Microsoft Certified IT Professional • Federal IT Security Professional Certification This operational position will also require occasional evening and after hours work. A rotating evening shift (noon to 9pm) and occasional on-call support are a requirement. Will require occasional travel [<10% ]. All candidates must be U.S. Citizen or have legal right to work in the USA without sponsorship with good financial background (Agency check will be required for this position). Job Description: AECOM has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Level Windows Server Administrator with a strong background in both Windows and VMWare to support a government agency's Office of Information Technology. Member of the team is responsible for operating, maintaining, and supporting the overall server architecture in a 5,000 user, multi-site environment. The team maintains responsibility over all Windows servers and the Active Directory domain, including the associated accounts, permissions, Group Policies and DNS. Essential Responsibilities: • Support and monitor the environment on a daily basis, including day-to-day server operations, troubleshooting problems, and working assigned infrastructure projects. • Work closely with external entities to upgrade/modify server infrastructure, add new requirements and troubleshoot server related issues. • Create, maintain and evaluate documentation, i.e. backup procedures, software and hardware lists, proper naming convention, proper IP address. • Perform preventive maintenance. • Monitor and optimize performance of servers. • Collect, analyze, and prepare usage and performance statistics. • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems. • Install and maintain system, application, and communications hardware and software. • Perform other duties as assigned.
