More information on AECOM and its services can be found at www\.aecom\.com\. **About the Business Line** **Water** We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\. **Job Summary** AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Geotechnical Engineer for immediate employment for the Phoenix, AZ office\. The person accepting this position would lead the Arizona and Southwest Area design practice for new dams and dam rehabilitation and support business development\. Clients will include municipal, federal, and private clients for flood control, water storage, and environmental containment \(including mine tailing and coal ash\) projects\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Personally provide the technical leadership for Arizona and Southwest Area dam/levee engineering projects + Serve as project manager of medium\- and large\-sized design projects and provide design leadership for existing major projects and clients in Arizona and the Southwest Area + Provide Leadership in hiring and developing junior and mid\-level engineering staff in field investigations, geotechnical design analyses and modeling \(stability, seepage, and settlement\) + Lead projects and personnel means that the following skill sets will be utilized on a regular basis: Geotechnical, Civil Design, Project Management, Proposal Writing, and Business Development + Work on Dam Rehabilitation, Flood Control Dams and Stormwater Diversion, Dams for Water Storage Reservoirs and Dam and Levee Design and Construction **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering + Certified Professional Engineer in Arizona + Minimum 10\-15 years of experience in dam/levee investigation and design + Master’s degree in related engineering discipline can substitute for up to two years of work experience + Project management experience + Experience in business development + Excellent communication skills including technical and proposal writing + Capable of functioning with spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software + Must have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in teams + Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position \(examples include AutoCAD, GIS, network models\) + Must have experience providing technical leadership within geotechnical engineering and must have a diversified knowledge of engineering practices **Preferred Qualifications** + Prior experience working within the Southwestern Area States \(New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming\) **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
