AECOM Government Services supports the U\.S\. federal government with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support\. **Job Summary** The Archives Technician is an entry\-level records management position supporting the Department of State's Records Service Center \(RSC\)\. The RSC is a full\-service records storage facility that receives and processes records from more than 50 DOS buildings in the Washington DC metropolitan area as well as from Embassies and foreign posts all over the world\. + Picking up and delivering boxes between the Department of State \(and any of its annexes\) and the RSC\. + Shelving boxes at the RSC, re\-boxing if needed, reviewing contents of the boxes against the records manifest and updating as needed\. + Providing retirement guidance to DOS users, ensuring that the retirement manifests are completed correctly, the appropriate records series is identified, and calculating retention/disposition based on that series\. + Entering metadata about records into an automated tracking system and scanning the manifests into PDF and attaching the scans into the tracking database\. + Preparing boxes at the RSC for transfer to the Washington National Records Center, including completing SF\-135 transfer forms, updating the tracking system, and delivering boxes approved for transfer to Suitland, MD\. + Requesting records \(i\.e\., Charging out records\) \- whether at the RSC or the Washington National Records Center \- for requesters and delivering the boxes to requestors \(this involves updating the tracking system, using ARCIS to request boxes if at the WNRC, and tracking delivery and return of charged out boxes\)\. + Under the guidance of the RSC supervisor, and direction/approval from DOS, destroying temporary records that are eligible for destruction \(and been approved by DOS for such destruction\), and updating the tracking system\. + Preparing permanent records for transfer to the National Archives, including updating the tracking system, marking the boxes, delivering the boxes, and scanning any transfer forms into the tracking system\. + Filing hard copy manifests correctly to facilitate retrieval at need\. + Maintaining an organized facility\. **Minimum Requirements** + Candidate must be analytical, capable of routinely lifting record boxes weighing up to 45\-50 pounds, and have a Top Secret clearance\. + Technical editing or writing experience ideal\.
