Job Description: URS Australia is one of the leading engineering and environmental consultancies offering design, investigative, planning and construction phase services in the infrastructure and mining sectors.
Typical projects are associated with the transport infrastructure and water markets, however at times there is also a need to service projects in mining and other market segments. In particular URS provides engineering consultancy services associated with the design and remediation of bridges, roads, dams, tunnels, windfarms, Local Government infrastructure, and associated structures
Specifically, this will involve working in multi-disciplined project teams to provide engineering consulting services to our internal and external clients, which would typically involve:
• Participation in the provision of general engineering advice primarily in the transport infrastructure, and water industry although within other business lines will occasionally be required;
• Assistance with project management of small scale structural engineering projects and field investigations;
• Data review, data interpretation and report writing;
• Assistance with scoping and pricing of work for minor tenders and quotations including proposal writing.
Responsibilities/Objectives
The role will more specifically involve:
• being part of a team to service the market lines;
• assistance with multi-disciplined engineering studies;
• undertaking field investigations and being part of field teams;
• assisting and undertaking of data collation, analysis and technical related modelling exercises;
• being trained/mentored by more experienced staff;
• assistance with tenders and proposals;
• participating in workgroup initiatives including business development and technical activities; and
• generally supporting project teams in achieving stated goals.
