**About the Business Line** **Environment**
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary** AECOM offices provide our employees with the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting and challenging projects throughout the United States and abroad\. We are seeking a knowledgeable and confident Field Technician who has the desire to grow their career working with a talented team of environmental professionals and engineers addressing diverse remediation challenges\.
The ideal candidate will be an assertive and strong team player with broad\-based experience with environmental remediation system operation and maintenance, who clearly demonstrates both the willingness and ability to participate in increasingly complex projects\. As a Field Technician you will work under the general supervision of senior engineering staff\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
+ Collection and analysis of field data
+ Operation and maintenance of remediation systems
+ Troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems
+ Collection of compliance samples for applicable permits
+ Preparation of field notes
+ Construction and subcontractor management
+ Assisting in maintaining compliance with client requirements
+ Working under the strictest Health & Safety protocols
**Minimum Requirements**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Minimum two years' previous related work experience
+ 40Hour HAZWOPER training and current 8\-hour refresher completed
+ Must have demonstrated ability to take direction from others and complete assigned tasks in the field
+ Ability to work remotely to troubleshoot and actively solve mechanical problems both with and without communication from engineering supervisors
+ Valid California driver’s license
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Demonstrated understanding and experience with the safety requirements and expectations of large petroleum companies
+ Experience with various remediation technologies including liquid\-and vapor\-phase carbon, and thermal and catalytic oxidizers
+ A history in working in the South Coast Air Quality Management District
+ Willingness and ability to travel to job locations throughout Southern California
