We enable the success of our employees and our operations by ensuring they have the tools, information, resources and support they need to do their jobs\. **Job Summary** The Los Angeles Metro Area Finance Manager \(AFM\) has responsibility for working with the area leadership team to drive financial performance across the area and support the drive to efficiency within the finance organization, whilst maintaining a strong business partnership\. This role reports directly to the Regional Finance Director\. The AFM has responsibility for the finance team within the area\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below: **Finance Leadership** : Responsible for key account abilities including the monthly close process, business analysis, and the management and driving of the working capital for the area\. **Management of Business Risks** : This role will be intimately familiar with the operation of the business and with the economic commercial environment of the area and will keep senior management and the RFD informed on the issues facing the business while anticipating and preventing unexpected situations\. **Playing a “Hands\-on” Role & Ensuring Strong Collaboration** : Will be sufficiently agile to operate as an area finance leader while also getting involved in the details of the work\. You will be expected to take a proactive approach in helping the business to solve problems\. **Strategic Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting** : Working in collaboration with operational stakeholders and the RFD, this role will be responsible for developing strategic plan commitments for the area, providing input into budgets and managing forecasting processes\. **Project Accounting Management** : Together with the RFD, the role will be responsible for driving accounting interaction with the Project Accounting Team to ensure timely and accurate preparation and upload of estimates at completion \(EAC\); validate the accuracy of revenue recognition at month end; co\-ordinate responses to client audit requests; and review significant project results and variances with the Project Accounting Team\. **Working Capital Management** : Responsibility for driving working capital management and reporting, through the achievement of cash flow objectives, engage in capital expenditures and seek to find cost effective solutions, to ultimately instill a culture of cash\. **Application of Sound Commercial Judgment** : The role will need to apply commercial and financial acumen to ensure that the correct controls and processes are in place to enable contract profitability and healthy cash flow\. They will be expected to have an involvement in the bid and pricing strategies and support the business to ensure we have a sound approach to working capital in the bid process\. **Change Management** : The role will be instrumental in supporting the Area Manager in driving through the systems, structures and control improvements and inefficiencies within the area\. **Understanding the Business** : Knows the business and the mission\-critical technical and functional skills needed to do the job; understands various types of business propositions and understands how businesses operate in general; learns new methods and technologies easily\. **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field + 10\+ years' experience including team management experience + Action oriented, possesses a strong sense of urgency + Proactive, responsive, detail\-oriented, and fully engaged with a “can do” approach + Thought leadership, results leadership, and people leadership + Debates and challenge others’ ideas to enhance processes and outcomes + Develops time\-bound milestones and promote a project management approach to delivery + Expects and encourages collaboration between operations and finance + Expertise from a complex consulting and/or construction or services business + Good leadership, business partnering and influencing skills + Excellent written and oral communication skills, the successful candidate will be comfortable participating both as an effective contributor and a listener in group settings which include senior staff **Preferred Qualifications** + MBA and/or CPA preferred **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
