**About the Business Line** **Water**
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\.
**Job Summary** The Water Resources Engineering Department of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented engineer for immediate employment in the Traverse City, Michigan office \(other office locations in Michigan will be considered\)\. The appropriately qualified applicant will have the opportunity to establish experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses of natural \(riverine\) systems and man\-made infrastructure specific to highway design, ecosystem restoration, water quality, flood control and storm water management projects\. In addition, the opportunity exists for this individual to support and perform general civil engineering analysis and design toward project site grading, drainage and utility improvements\. Responsibilities for this position include the following but are not limited to:
+ Water quality studies to support TMDLs, watershed management plans and LTCPs
+ Analysis and design of traditional and innovative stormwater BMPs \(infiltration devices, raingardens, etc\.\)
+ Analysis of watersheds/sub\-watersheds in the derivation of estimated rainfall runoff for a range of return period events using simple to complex approaches
+ Assist the development of the project approach and application of appropriate tools/programs to analyze hydraulic performance of both natural riverine watercourses as well as man\-made storm water/flood control infrastructure
+ Analysis and design of highway drainage infrastructure
+ Develop hydraulic, hydrologic and water quality models such as, HEC\-RAS, HEC\-HMS, SWMM, HSPF and others
+ May require project site visits
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in water resources
+ Minimum two years of experience supporting a Water Resource Group in completing surface water related projects
+ Experience with common CADD software, ESRI GIS products, and Hydrologic/Hydraulic models
+ Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
+ Must be able to define the problem, review data, conduct modeling, interpret results and clearly communicate the findings
+ Effective time\-management, written communications skills, analytical, and interpersonal skills required
+ Must be articulate with professional presence, with solid decision\-making, planning and organizational skills
+ Must have leadership skills, effective communications, and team\-building skills to work with multi\-disciplinary teams and manage subcontractors
+ Must be able to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists
+ Valid driver’s license required
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master’s degree in appropriate discipline related to water resources engineering
+ Experience with developing construction documents and specifications
+ Experience with HEC\-RAS modeling
+ Experience with highway drainage design and analysis
