Our global network of top\-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries\. **Job Summary** AECOM is seeking a Designer to join our Oakland, CA office\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed below: + Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and detailed construction/bid documents + Identify discrepancies in developing documents and evaluate alternative solutions + Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design + Stay current in codes and technologies appropriate to the project under development including preparation of building code analysis + Review shop drawings and requests for information \(RFIs\) + Implement and follow Company Quality Management System procedures **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor of Science in Architecture,Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, orBachelor of Architecture or equivalent + 3\-5 years of experience and is in the process of taking exams towards licensure in California + A "nuts & bolts," construction\-document experienced architectural candidate, with at least three AutoCAD construction document project sets for medium sized projects in their experience + Experience in steel frame, concrete, CMU, or precast/tilt\-up concrete construction types + Ability to independently prepare construction document\-level building sections and details, with minimal supervision + Ability to be flexible and team oriented, with a demonstrated ability to both give and receive direction + Well versed in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Sketch Up + Knowledge and some capability in Revit/BIM, and Bluebeam + Well versed in Microsoft Office suite + Excellent verbal skills + Good analytical and written communication skills **Preferred Qualifications** + Proficient in Revit 2013 or later + Familiarity with the preparation of building\-code checks; prior production of a 2010 CBC code check + Familiarity with the preparation of construction specifications in current CSI format + Experienced with coordinating and directing design team staff of other disciplines **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
