Requisition Number: FS104159 Interest Category: Project/Program Management Interest Sub Category: Estimating Job Title : Senior Estimator Employment Category/Status: full-time Type of Position: Regular Hire Country: U.S. State: New Mexico City: Carlsbad Minimum Requirements: Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, construction management, business or a technical discipline • Six years of experience in estimating • Ten years of experience in nuclear, heavy industrial or process chemical construction performing estimating work would substitute in lieu of a secondary education requirement. • Comprehension of engineering, procurement, construction and general business environments. • Working knowledge of planning and scheduling and cost controls. • Demonstrated skill in conceptual estimating, coordination with technical personnel, interfacing with engineers, knowledge of field construction techniques, labor and equipment requirements. • Ability to apply advanced concepts and unique methods to quantify work condition impacts on costs • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens Preferred Requirements: • Previous WIPP experience Additional Information: • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. • Relocation benefits are available. Position Description: The successful candidate will prepare estimates in support of operational, maintenance, and/or project work activities in order to provide the basis for decision making, planning, control and performance monitoring. Review and analyze estimates prepared by others and make presentations to management. Responsible to lead and subcontract for staffing support as necessary to support capital line item projects, routine WIPP baseline reviews; and GPP projects.
