AECOM’s Global Support Services \(GSS\) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs\. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere\. **Job Summary** AECOM is seeking a WASH Advocacy Advisor for an upcoming USAID\-funded task order in Ethiopia\. The Project aims to accelerate the expansion of improved sustainable drinking water supply and sanitation access and improve hygiene behaviors while also expanding sustainable agricultural use of water in Somali, Afar and SNNPR \(lowland areas\) regions of Ethiopia with populations vulnerable to drought and climate change\.
The WASH Advocacy Advisor will work with stakeholders at the village level up to Regional government level to build capacity and influence opinion and change\. This includes collaborating with key opinion leaders such as administration officials, technical bureau department heads, Woreda technical officers, etc\. The WASH Advisor will help build consensus within the target Regions on developing new solutions to water challenges that the Regions face\. He/She will also maintain active engagement with other local partners throughout the entire activity period to achieve increased access to sustainable WASH services and initiate change at the local level\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Degree from a recognized university in business, economics, or social sciences or other related fields;
+ At least ten years practical experience on WASH projects; at least half of which should be in the target areas;
+ Assessment, analytical and planning skills, with an ability to translate analysis into recommendations for practical action\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Ethiopia experience preferred
