Minimum Requirements: • BS in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or related engineering field
• Minimum 5 years project experience in the evaluation and treatment (biological and/or physical-chemical) of industrial wastewater, source reduction/wastewater minimization (in industrial manufacturing operations), and water conservation/reuse/recycling practices in industrial and commercial operations
• Familiarity with EPA pretreatment regulations and industrial point source category effluent limitations guidelines and standards and wastewater sampling and analytical methods
• Hands-on experience with bench scale treatability testing and/or pilot testing of industrial wastewater
• Strong analytical and computational abilities
• Understanding of statistical analyses
• Excellent communication skills; both verbal and technical report writing.
• Highly motivated and capable of working effectively in a team environment and independently.
• Takes initiative and conducts work with minimal supervision and oversight
• Ability to develop project management skills
• Participates in communications with clients and marketing initiatives
• Support piloting activities including operation of treatment equipment
• Support field service including the startup and operation of treatment equipment for performance studies
• Prepare preliminary designs, present technical papers, marketing data and final job package; Assist in determining bid strategy; Participate in marketing planning process
• Conduct study to determine application of Company products and processes
• Conduct training sessions/seminars
• Participate in product evaluations
• Maintain application standards
• Fundamentals in Engineering certification, with the ability to become a professional engineer in the state of North Carolina within 6 months of hire date

Job Description: AECOM Technical Services is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Industrial Water/Wastewater Engineer for employment in our Morrisville(Raleigh), North Carolina office.
The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in environmental engineering specific to the biological and physical/chemical treatment (including zero liquid discharge) of industrial wastewaters in one or more of the following industrial sectors:
• Food and beverage products manufacturing and packaging
• Fossil fuel power generation
• Petroleum/petrochemical processing
• Metal finishing/electroplating and metal products fabrication
• Electrical and electronic components manufacturing
• Pulp and paper
• Pharmaceutical manufacturing and biotech
• Battery manufacturing

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Manage tasks and projects associated with process wastewater.
• Assist in preparation of sales tools such as product bulletins, films, suggested specifications.
• Ensure contract specifications are executed on schedule and within budget estimates.
• Planning, coordinating, and executing wastewater characterization studies, bench and pilot scale treatability testing, and treatment system process evaluations and designs
• Performing manufacturing process/commercial operations wastewater audits and water conservation assessments.
• Inspection of industrial manufacturing facilities and commercial operations to assess compliance with environmental regulations.
• Preparing wastewater permitting documents.
• Preparing wastewater treatment and recycle system design plans and specifications, including Process Flow Diagrams, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, and mechanical piping and equipment plans and isometrics.
