More information on AECOM and its services can be found at www\.aecom\.com\. **About the Business Line**  **Environment** Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\. **Job Summary** The Albuquerque Environmental Services Department is seeking an experienced mid\-level **Geologist** to support ongoing Department of Defense Installation Restoration Program \(IRP\) Project Sites in New Mexico\. The ideal candidate will have experience working on IRP Sites at New Mexico’s three Air Force Bases and Army Installations\.  The candidate must have an understanding of the regulatory environment, operational processes, and site conditions at New Mexico Installations\. This mid\-level position will also support business development efforts in commercial markets and assist with growing current client backlog\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Independently oversees all aspects of technical related work at multiple sites + Assists with the development of technical approaches to achieve client performance objectives + Authors subcontractor scopes of work and evaluates pricing to determine best value + Supervises subcontractor personnel and field staff to ensure technical objectives are met + Prepares comprehensive reports summarizing site conditions including recommendations for further action + Works with senior staff to develop cost estimates and realistic schedules + Create maps and figures showing contaminant distribution in different media + Executes field activities in accordance with approved plans and specifications + Performs and oversees field data collection as follows: collects groundwater samples using various sampling methods, collects water quality measurements, detailed field documentation and field activity logs, collection of soil samples using hand methods, drilling rig, and direct push technology + Performs and oversees complex monitoring well installations in unconsolidated and bedrock environments + Conducts surveys using field instrumentation + Performs classification of soils and rock **Minimum Requirements** + Masters of Science in Geology or Earth Science + Seven years of experience + Advanced knowledge of geologic principles and interpretations of subsurface conditions + Understanding of contaminant migration in subsurface soil and groundwater + Understanding of groundwater movement in the subsurface + Experience with sites regulated by the New Mexico Environment Department as demonstrated by responding to regulator comments + Assists with the development of project costs and schedule + Serves as the central point of contact for project status reporting and technical updates + Interacts and communicates with client on a regular basis + 40\-hour hazwopper training **Preferred Qualifications** + Registered Geologist PG preferred **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
