Minimum Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1st Shift.
Minimum six to twelve months general experience and/or training is required. Minimum of six months specific experience in material handling, supply, distribution, inspection, QA, or related areas. High school diploma/GED required. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle. Must have demonstrated ability to obtain license to use MHE. Must have or be able to maintain a secret clearance. Must be able to use DSS, SBSS and other automated distribution systems used at site. Must be able to follow requirements of MIL STD 129.
1. Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material as per DLA regulations. Examinations may be visual or require measuring devices and techniques.
2. Possess basic knowledge of inspection/examination procedures for material.
3. Able to read specifications, drawings, prints, schematics and photographs as/if required in DLA contract.
4. Load material on and off of skids, pallets, stands.
5. Prepare labels as required.
6. Prepare reports as required.
7. Operate tools and equipment in performance of duties.
8. Receive data from and input data to DSS and other automated systems in performance of duties.
9. Secure loads; perform rigging, blocking and bracing as necessary.
10. Operate MHE as assigned and hold appropriate license.
11. Count, weigh, record data, apply tags and labels.
12. Make preventative maintenance adjustments to related equipment.
13. Performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
14. Verify material against receiving, packing, issuing, stowing documents, note and report discrepancies and obvious damages; route materials to prescribed storage locations. Stores, stacks or palletizes material in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
15. Perform all other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Shop environment with hazardous equipment, moving MHE, obstacles and high volume activity. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for short distances, stoop, bend, kneel, walk, have full dexterity, and correctable vision. Outside work in hot and cold or wet weather is often required. Work environment often has fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is loud. Protective devices are required to avoid injury.
Job Description: This position supports the Transportation Branch of the DLA Distribution at Hill AFB, Utah. Performs a range of duties in the receipt, stow, and issue and packing of material. Candidate will ensure that items being processed are done in accordance with the customer's requirements. Inspects, inventories, and documents incoming and outgoing shipments of merchandise / property. Performs COSIS, stows, issues, and ships commodities. May operate forklifts, automated storage modules, and automated stow/pick vehicles, etc. Must have knowledge of transportation department to include; premium service, less-than-truck load, truck load, military or commercial air, or ocean going vessel. Directs scheduling of shipments and notifies concerned customers of arrival dates for critical items. Duties include being responsible for GBL/CBL, and manifest preparation, Air Challenges Authority, preparation of all documentation to comply with MTMC, DoD, DLA and service regulation and instructions regarding the shipment of goods from the distribution depot. Must have or be able to obtain a secret clearance.
The incumbent may be asked to work a day, swing, or rotating shift, which may include weekends and holidays, as well as other areas in the warehouse.
