**Job Summary** AECOM seeks to further establish itself as the designer of choice for high rise residential and/or mixed use developments in the Los Angeles metropolitan area including Orange County\.
Working in conjunction with the Americas architectural leadership, you will lead the development and implementation of thestrategy for thenewly established studio, that will build upon AECOM’s reputation for designing high profile buildings\. In addition to developing external relationships with developers and builders, you will lead the partnering efforts with our own Construction Services and AECOM Capital leaders and team\.
+ Direct and provide leadership for activities in the studio including, but not limited to all business, staff and financial operations, project profitability, marketing/business development, client satisfaction and employee growth and development\.
+ Build on strong relationships and interact regularly with existing and new clients, teaming partners, industry groups and stakeholders linked to the practice and business line\.
+ Ensure tight control is maintained over studio financial and project performance and that operations management respond quickly and effectively to any problems or adverse trends and to opportunities\.
+ Lead a well\-balanced design team; assess capabilities of staffing resources; grow, develop and maintain expertise; and augment team with additional expertise\.
+ Ensure projects are being managed to high safety, commercial, client, technical and reputational standards\. Where there are indications that such standards are not being effectively addressed, take remedial action\.
+ Work closely with district and regional leadership to promote an interdisciplinary design approach and philosophy\.
+ Drive the continued improvement of innovation, design and creativity; support best practice project delivery \(processes, delivery model and resources\), leadership and reputation\.
+ Engage with other districts and regions to make available key staff in support of bid development and project delivery activities\.
+ Collaborate across the B\+P practices\. Work with regional and international architecture sector leaders to implement key initiatives, investments and strategies for growth and practice\- development; obtain new project work; lead thought leadership; and create profitability\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ 15\+ years’ progressive experience including at least five years in a team/studio leadership capacity\.
+ Demonstrable design leadership and project delivery track record preferably in a large, multi\-disciplinary practice\.
+ Extensive commercial sector experience in the LA marketplace is essential as is a project portfolio consisting of large, complex mixed use/high rise developments\.
+ Demonstrable team\-building and influencing skills; unquestioned integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address major client needs and challenges\.
+ Experience and willingness to win work, develop client relationships and drive sales and revenue\.
+ Commercial acumen, delivering complex and demanding solutions to public and private sector clients\.
+ A strong desire to train, mentor and develop staff to grow their careers and the business\.
+ Recognized technical/sector practice expertise within your chosen field\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required; master’s degree is preferred\. Registered Architect in at least one state\.
