Master's degree can substitute for three years of work experience. Or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience. Technical skills: • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) • Internet English / Spanish fluency (reading, writing, comprehension) Job Description: URS, an AECOM company, is actively seeking a highly talented Environmental Scientist to be based in our Mexico City, Mexico office for immediate employment. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Environmental Activities. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: • Collects both field and bibliographic environmental data • Assesses and interprets data • Plans, executes, analyzes and reports on the impact of environmental issues to natural systems • Conducts or participates in environmental studies and prepares environmental reports addressing contaminant-impacts on environment • Applies knowledge of natural sciences (chemical physics, biology, hydrology and mathematics) to explain phenomena • Studies contaminants and determine how to restore the environment. • May apply principles of natural sciences for engineering projects • Provides technical support to the area manager and other office staff • Performs technical work by applying standard techniques utilizing established guidelines • Ensures all work products of high quality • Independently performs most assignments with little or no oversight • Receives guidance on unusual or complex issues • Makes decisions within established parameters • Generates project reports AECOM is a premier, fully integrated professional and technical services firm positioned to design, build, finance and operate infrastructure assets around the world for public- and private-sector clients.
