Job Description: The Geotechnical Engineering Group of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, Internship Engineer for employment in the Los Angeles office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be trained in different aspects of Geotechnical Engineering. Selected candidate will work under the supervision of registered geotechnical engineers and the responsibilities will include:
• Assist with organizing and conducting geotechnical engineering investigations including performing field investigations and laboratory testing
• Assist with performing engineering analysis and design of shallow & deep foundation
• Assist with performing seismic hazard assessments, liquefaction analysis, and static and seismic slope stability analysis
• Assist with preparation of geotechnical design reports
• Research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions and regulatory agency specifications
• Assist with construction monitoring projects including field monitoring and testing, preparation of final construction monitoring reports
• This position requires the flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of AECOM
