Job Description: As an Associate Environmental Engineer you will work as a team member within the Geoscience team. Your position requires sound project management, technical and communication skills.
Responsibilities / Objectives
As an Environmental Scientist you will be responsible for undertaking a range of environmental studies which may include:
• Environmental assessments, impact studies, management plans, advice and audits.
• Water quality assessments and management plans.
You shall be primarily responsible for providing technical support and input to projects, preparation of reports in the above study areas, assistance in proposal preparation, and maintaining existing business/clients relationships. You key technical responsibilities include:
• Manage and/or provide technical input to projects so that adequate technical knowledge is used to satisfy client requirements.
• Management and direction of field programs and providing technical assistance to field staff.
• Prepare technically competent, timely reports.
• Meet all project constraints with respect to budget and schedule.
• Manage projects to meet URS and client expectations.
• Prepare proposals and tenders.
• Review reports prepared by other staff or sub consultants for technical content, regulatory compliance, clarity and client requirements.
• Compile or assist in the compilation of multi-disciplinary environmental reports.
• Assist in the professional development of staff and in the growth of the Geoscience Group.
• Liaise with clients, where requested, to ensure that client needs are met and to help develop business where appropriate.
• Research specific technical applications as required to evaluate technical matters and develop solutions and strategies.
• Adhere to URS Business Management Systems and OH&S Systems.
• Respond with flexibility to changing client needs.
• Identify and develop new or additional business opportunities with existing clients.
• Undertake business development activities which assist in increasing the level of business for the office.
• Assist in the promotion of the firm externally through professional associations and attendance at business functions as appropriate.
• Provide technical training/mentoring for graduate and junior staff.
• Participate in workgroup initiatives including technical activities.
