**Job Summary** AECOM is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our growing transportation team in Minneapolis, MN\. This position will perform engineering tasks relating to freight rail construction oversight, roadway construction oversight, freight rail design, and construction administration\. This position will be part of our Transportation team providing construction inspection for freight rail and roadway construction projects\. This position will also provide conceptual, preliminary and final design and drafting for highway and freight rail projects\.
Essential Functions:
+ Understanding of inspection/oversight procedures, methods, principles and techniques
+ Ability to understand problems from a board, interactive perspective and discern applicable underlying principles to conceive and develop strategic solution
+ General understanding of the project delivery process and the interaction between clients, contractors and office groups
+ Ability to initiate and manage administrative responsibilities for construction management activities such as invoicing, submittals, change order requests, field technical report data and related tasks
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Associate Degree in Construction Management or related field
+ Minimum 2 years of experience
+ Experience with Microsoft Office
+ Positive problem solver with a flexible approach to work, committed to excellence, motivated, and a strong team player
+ Have good verbal and written communication skills
+ Ability to conduct and lead meetings with staff, client, and stakeholders, as needed
+ Willingness to travel throughout Minnesota and the Upper Midwest and other locations where railway clients have worksites for short and long term assignments
+ Personal and professional commitment to safe work practices and workplace safety
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with Microstation, Inroads, Rail Track, Geopak is preferred, but not essential
+ Experience with highway and freight rail design and plan production is preferred, but not essential
+ Experience with highway and freight rail construction is preferred, but not essential
+ Experience working for a Class 1 or Shortline Railroad is preferred, but not essential
