More information on AECOM and its services can be found at www\.aecom\.com\. **About the Business Line**  **Environment** Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\. **Job Summary** AECOM is seeking a biologist to assist with biological monitoring of construction, biological surveys, and permit and report preparation for projects in the San Francisco Bay Area\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below: + Surveying and monitoring for sensitive biological resources and special\-status species + Inspecting and monitoring construction sites for compliance with resource agency permits + Coordinating with project team members and construction supervisors and crew members + Providing environmental training to construction crews, and preparing daily field reports + Conducting other biological surveys, writing technical reports, compiling information for permits, and assisting in office\-based tasks as needed + Gather data and other information to be used in the preparation of scientific reports + Assist with plant inventories and habitat mapping + Monitor restoration sites + Assist with surveys for rare, threatened, or endangered plants and animals + Review analytical data for general indicators of quality for routine analyses based on well\-defined guidelines + Successfully collaborate with other AECOM employees + May require travelling and staying out of town on occasions The position will be based out of the Oakland office\. The Oakland Office includes more than 35 biologists and ecologists\. The environment of the Oakland AECOM Office is dynamic, energetic, and one where hard work is rewarded and personal obligations are respected\. Project work at this office is primarily related to utilities, infrastructure, and restoration, including field surveys, restoration planning, environmental permitting, NEPA/CEQA compliance, and project monitoring\. **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, Botany, Bio\-geography or related field + Minimum 1\-3 years’ experience + Ability to assist with construction monitoring, habitat assessments, biological surveys for plants or animals, mitigation and monitoring reports, annual monitoring reports, and/or habitat conservation plans under supervision + Experience in identification of bird species + Demonstrated experience in assisting with sensitive species surveys, botanical surveys, wetland delineations, and other field assignments + Ability to work independently + Strong communication skills + Ability to work with a variety of field teams and clients + Strong writing skills + Ability to perform tasks under the direction of a senior project professional **Preferred Qualifications** + Local Candidate Prefered **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
