**Job Summary** Following continued successful growth we are seeking additional **Transport Planners and Modellers** to join our Urban Space team, to be based in any of our offices in the South East; including, but not limited to: Croydon or St Albans\. The Urban Space team is involved with a wide range of exciting projects from around the world – recent examples include Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, Qatar 2022 World Cup and many others\.
Our team has a unique role, becoming involved in the early concept design stages with Master planners, Architects and other disciplines\. Often starting with a blank canvass, we combine imagination with technical know\-how to help shape the transport links and operational plans to make these global ‘mega events’ possible\.
We are looking for people with experience in transport planning, including experience of transport modelling experience to join the team\. Candidates should be competent with survey data analysis, matrix manipulation, model building and validation, analysis skills and report writing\. There will be immediate opportunities to train and supervise junior staff with project tasks, as well as client interactions\.

In addition to those mentioned earlier, Our other clients include national and local transport authorities such as the UK Department of Transport and Transport for London, Network Rail, local authorities of the UK including several borough councils of London, private developers of land and transport facilities as well as overseas institutions such as the European Commission\. We develop and use some of the most sophisticated transport modelling techniques, applying a range of specialist software\.
**Job Requirements:**
+ Be an active team member and/or task leader for projects involving interchange planning and design, town centre and opportunity/ regeneration area planning and assessment, planning and designing of venues and stadias for major sporting events, etc\. Undertake static analysis and micro\-simulation modelling for traffic and pedestrian studies as required
+ Task supervision, on\-the\-job training and support to junior staff
+ Support to senior staff with Business Development and proposal preparation
+ Investigate and support research into new technologies, techniques and application into new market sectors
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Solid experience within a transport planning team, with transport modelling experience
+ Experience in at least one transport planning micro\-simulation software package, e\.g\. VISSIM, Paramics, LEGION, VisWALK, CAST, SYNCHRO, LINSIG, TRANSYT etc\.
+ Good CAD experience and understanding of traffic engineering and junction design aspects
+ Experience and understanding of any other transport modelling software such as SATURN, CUBE, EMME, VISUM, TUBA, STEPS, Pedroute, Paxport etc\. are desirable but not essential
+ Good skills with office software such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint
+ The ability to supervise junior staff with project tasks
+ Good communication skills – both written and oral
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ A graduate with a BSc/MSc in an analytical subject \(e\.g\. geography, mathematics, economics, engineering, architecture, science\)Desirable Requirements:
- A master’s degree or PhD in Transport Planning or related subject/social based discipline Membership of a relevant professional chartered institute
