Our global network of top\-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries\. **Job Summary** Our Transportation team currently have a vacancy for a **Senior Transport Planning Consultant** with experience in Development Planning and preliminary Highway Design\. AECOM are currently expanding their Development team in our St Albans office\. Our Development Planning teams in the South East are growing rapidly and we need to bring in new staff to support our growth and supplement our existing group following a series of recent promotions and graduate recruitment\. We seek motivated and self starting individuals, who have already had strong experience with their existing employer, are engaged in or ready to work toward professional qualification and able to take on promotion and a senior role in the next few years\. AECOM will support training toward C Eng MICE or MIHT together with the Transport Planning Society TPP qualification\. For Development Planning posts ideally we would expect successful candidates to have a rounded skill set in development related transport assessment, with some wider experience in policy implementation, modelling and technical design\. We would also expect good written and oral communication skills which we would continue to develop\. Some knowledge and ability or qualification in civil engineering would be advantageous\. Our Development teams work with private and public sector clients, architects, planners and other property professionals throughout the development life cycle; providing services from site feasibility through to completion\. We undertake Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Preliminary and Detailed Designs and Safety Audits and also support other AECOM business lines where their projects have a highway interface\. Our Development team is involved in a number of high profile projects with a variety of clients both in the UK and overseas\. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include Heathrow, DP World, Kier, Barratts, Countryside Properties, Addenbrooke’s Hospital and ASDA\. Our current portfolio of works comprises a diverse mix of local, national and international masterplanning, development planning and engineering projects\. A selection of our current and recent projects include: •Heathrow Surface Access Framework •Rio 2016 Olympics •London Gateway Port •Watford Health Campus •Portonovi Leisure Resort, Montenegro •Cambridge Biomedical Campus **Minimum Requirements** + Delivery of Transport Assessments,Travel Plans and preliminary highway design\. + Undertaking junction modelling work using industry standard tools \(TRANSYT, LINSIG, ARCADY, PICADY, VISSIM\)\. + Work with private and public sector clients, architects, planners and property professionals throughout the development life cycle, providing services from site feasibility through to project completion\. + Supervising work, ensuring that it is carried out to the appropriate technical standard and that it is managed to programme and budget\. + Support team leader in managing and mentoring junior staff\. + A graduate in an analytical subject \(e\.g engineering, geography, mathematics, economics\)\. + Relevant experience in development planning including the preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and preliminary highway design\. + Good working knowledge of junction modelling software including TRANSYT, LINSIG, ARCADY and PICADY, with VISSIM experience helpful\. + Experience of working with clients and managing tasks and individuals\. + A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills\. **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelors degree in a relevant analytical subject **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
