Job Description: URS is seeking a Network Engineer to be located at our Richland, Wa location. The Network Engineer is responsible for design reviews, generation and review of test plans and technical drawings. Supports the Configuration Management (CM) program to include the evaluation and monitoring of all modifications to communications equipment of facilities, the generation of Engineering Change Requests to improve availability, operability, reliability, maintainability, and ensures adherence to applicable CM standards. Examines systems, facilities, plans and specifications to determine safe work procedures. Provides system design, cost analysis, procurement, installation, configuration change documentation, for integration of network systems and generation of Engineering Change Orders. •Requires a self-motivated individual possessing excellent people, verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of the following is preferred: •System implementation, design, configuration, and management of network interfaces, wireless networks, network topography as well as associated equipment particularly in the Cisco family of hardware •Implementation, design, configuration, and management of communications (fiber-optic, multiplexer) equipment; TCP/IP, hubs, routers, bridges firewalls/data diodes; •Communications (fiber-optic, multiplexer) equipment and associated cabling •Configuring systems to LAN level Network Administration of Layer 3 Routers, Switches, VLAN Configuration, and Wireless Bridges •Authentication, network services access policies and related internal and external network security considerations •Supporting integrated communications operations and maintenance tasks to include monitoring data communications and network issues. •Supporting the development and review of approved procedures to those processes that users follow and updates work instructions accordingly. Explain user procedures for system operation and maintenance. •Maintaining up-to-date equipment and software inventories, and up-to-date network drawings •Component and systems design, project engineering and project management, systems integration, configuration management, documentation, and technical writing •Other duties as assigned URS and AECOM have joined together as one company.
