**Job Summary** AECOM is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Maritime Consultants to join our well\-established and experienced Maritime team in our centrally located London \- Victoria and Basingstoke offices\.
As a Maritime Consultant you will ideally have experience in either the ports or shipping industry in either a commercial or operational management role, alternatively you may have a track\-record in port sector advisory from either an economics or financial background\. You will have proven analytical capability and be able to communicate well with colleagues and clients\.
You will also demonstrate project management experience delivering projects to quality, time and budget\. You will have experience of working as part of project teams including multi\-disciplinary teams and also teams in multiple locations\. The role would suit a self\-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team\.
As a Senior Maritime Consultant, your main responsibilities will include:
+ Working on a range of ports and maritime advisory projects including masterplanning, commercial / strategic advisory and transactions advisory / due diligence assignments\.
+ Advising on a range of ports and related developments including container terminals, bulk terminals, energy\-sector projects including marine renewables, ports and harbours\.
+ Managing projects and providing technical QA\.
+ Working with clients to define their requirements and discuss progress\.
+ Liaising with colleagues on commercial / market issues, port engineering / planning, EHS issues\.
+ Occasional short to medium term site visits \(UK and Overseas\) may also become necessary depending on project requirements\.
+ Assisting with business development and preparation of tenders\.
+ Supporting the expansion of the team and providing mentorship to new members of staff\.
Our global team of some 450\+ maritime specialists have the technical skills and experience to address any form of maritime project\. We support a wide range of maritime developments including container terminals, waterfront developments, cruise and ferry terminals, marinas and fishing harbours and military ports\.
The Basingstoke and London offices have an established track record of successfully delivering maritime services to port owners/operators, contractors and transportation agencies\. Our maritime experience includes port planning, port economics and due diligence, engineering and design, construction supervision, transactions and financial advisory services for clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa\. Our team of maritime specialists provide a fully integrated service and have the technical skills and experience to address a wide range of maritime developments\.
Recent projects have included the London Gateway, major pit to port studies in Ivory Coast and Liberia, an offshore fabrication yard at Porto Amboim that includes Africa’s largest crane, PSA Rodman Phase 2 Container Terminal in Panama, Jebel Ali Terminal 4, and technical support on a variety of projects including a tidal lagoon, a caisson breakwater in Mexico and moorings in Hong Kong\.
In the past year ports strategic and transaction advisory projects have included projects in Belgium, Italy, Tanzania, Turkey and the UK\. Key clients include major terminal operators, investors and public sector bodies\.
We are now looking to enhance and grow this team with individuals with a sound technical background that share our enthusiasm and determination to support our expanding workload\.
**Minimum Requirements** As the successful candidate, the following will be required for this role:
+ You will bring significant experience either in the ports / shipping sector or in managing consultancy projects in the maritime sector\.
+ Strong analytical skills, with high\-level expertise in at least one of the following: traffic, financial or operational modelling\.
+ You will also have a strong track record in strategically improving the technical capabilities of the team\.
**Preferred Qualifications** Educated to degree level, or equivalent, in relevant discipline \(Transport / Logistics, Geography, Economics, Finance or Engineering\)\.
